The chemical leak and fire in Bhopal India in Dec of 1984 killed anywhere from 4000 to 16000 victims as well any many uncounted related health issues. Some victims who survived were awarded a whopping 200 dollars by Dow chemical after buying it from Union Carbide.
After writing the first verse about that tragedy, I turned to the issue of farm worker cancer deaths and health issues in our own Central California.
Exposure to substances remains an issue.
The logical next step was to relate the use of chemicals in our own food supply. There' s some big money being made while the world's people pay the price. (Most often the poor)
