Air wigs is an Instrumental whose original idea was brought by Doc and then John put chords to it and created the form. It was always performed in medley fashion as a prelude to Hot Times.
Hot times was written in 1989 or 90 after reading a Greenpeace article on global warming. Took the facts laid out in that article and turned it into a song. Sounds like a party song but still tells a grim tale. Too bad climate change did not get the attention it deserved back then. Instead we are another twenty years behind the 8 ball so to speak,
